Not Me

I blink hard to forget the thoughts I know I should not have.

But they don’t go away.

They keep coming and coming.

Like a boomerang,

Around and around again.

But this time, I don’t complete the circuit.

I let the thoughts prevail as a tear flows down my cheek.

I close my eyes and all I see,

Is me…

Covered in crimson red,

But no this cannot be…

I wont let this happen.

My pain will not overcome my logic

I will stay me.

I will not become this girl I see.

For she is not me,

                             And never will be.
