The Mirror

I look into the empty bliss of what’s in front of me.

The smooth surface, the polished glass.

It looks as if it would tell no lies.

But what I see cannot be the truth, I refuse to believe.

The girl I see in the mirror is not what I am.

This is never what I wanted to be.

I smash the glass

shards of its lies fly past me like hurtful words and all I can do is stare.

Is this what i wanted?

to ruin the one thing that i can always trust to be true

No.

I can crush the mirror,

But that will never change the reflection that it brings...
