Something Random I came up with.

Cut says the knife to the wrist.

And stick says the needle to the vein.

No matter how you try to put it.

Its all just the same old shame.

Cross to the other side of the street.

Keep your children safe in blessed ignorance.

While I nod my head to an invisible beat.

You shake your head on the other side of the fence.

While I thank the next day that I live.

A thousand promises to get better.

But first I must take before I give.

Writing the same old sorry letter.

May cause dissapointment, grief, shame, embarrassment and pain.

Read the label before you take the drug again.

And only take 24 times a day.

One for every hour so on the safe side i'll be okay.

Oh yeah this is for the ones who walk on by.

Disdain looks and chains held high.

An excuse to chuckle and press the needle so much more deep.

An even better reason to break down and weep.

And to those who may throw a dollar or two.

I really truly thank you.

Because my pride has been forgotten enough.

In a thousand needles and a million cuts.

For me to accept your good deed of the day.

Your generosity is the reason im still okay.

I wrote this in 7th grade. It's just something random. No, I'm not emo, or a drug addict, or any of the things this poem may suggest. I just can relate to other people's feelings very strongly.
