I Have You

Raindrops falling from the sky,

I feel so lonely I wish I could cry,

But there are no tears left in these eyes,

No love remains within my soul,

I have nothing to live for; no longer wish to be alive,

There is no joy within my eyes,

The smile that once shined so bright,

Is now as empty as the night,

The heart that was once so full of love,

Is now as empty as a lost dove,

No one to love, no one to hate,

I guess this emptiness was my fate,

Is my destiny to be alone?

Am I meant to never belong?

I swore I wouldn’t do this, but I can’t seem to quit,

My hand in yours just doesn’t seem to fit,

I know I love you, but is that really enough?

Can I get through this; can I be tough?

These obstacles that block my path,

Really make me want to laugh,

At everything that holds me back,

Because I will succeed, and that’s a fact,

I’ll do whatever it takes to get to you,

Because in the end I know you love me too,

Though at times I know I am on my own,

Because certain things I need to do alone,

Yet in the end I know the truth,

That I’m not alone because I have you.
