I’m lying here on the floor,My broken body can’t take much more,My heart’s in pieces all around me,My soul finally chose to fly free,My eyes are closed, my breathing light,I’ve finally given up the fight,My life flashes before my eyes,I’m cutting losses, cutting ties,I’m leaving this earth for now and forever,The bonds I had with some were hard to sever,But it had to be done sooner or later,The hole in my chest the size of a crater,Where a beating heart once lived is now charred and black,I can’t go through it again, I refuse to go back,A sharp pain shoots through me I open my eyes,See you standing before me, so ethereal,I reach out to touch you, but cannot feel,A reflection blinds me; I look to my right,I see you holding a knife,It’s clutched in your fist as if you’d die if you let it go,I look down; see the crimson liquid flow,My life is draining before me, it’s running under the bed,I see it dripping from the knife; soon I know I’ll be dead,I see a tear fall from your eye,As you silently say goodbye,You walk away; leave me on my own,I’m mesmerized by the red sea forming around me,I know that soon I’ll be free,My eye’s close for the last time,And the last thing I see in my mind,Is your beautiful face smiling down at me.
