Better Off Apart

 

 

Turn back to me just one more time,

Listen to these words that have been on my mind,

We almost made it through this one,

But what we had is over and done,

My almost lover; my one true friend,

I’m walking away so my heart can mend,

You’re free to do what you need to do,

And I can move on and forget about you,

I found a good man; who loves me for me,

It’s time to let go and let our hearts free,

Let’s not force something that was never there,

I can no longer live in this pain filled air,

Just let go and I’ll do the same,

Separate; there won’t be so much pain,

Just one last kiss as we say our goodbyes,

And fly away into separate skies.
