What I Am/ What I'm Not

I push away everything in fear

I close up from humanity

And force myself not to shed a tear

Just so others don't take a second glance

At what I'm not

What was once me

Is now completely fake

And what was once fake

Is now, a part of me

Popularity and attention is short lived and sporadic

but love and happiness is infinite

But what I have become is tragic

A crazy out of control teeter-totter

Of what I am, and what I'm not

What was once me

Is now completely fake

And what was once fake

Is now, a part of me

What was once a shell, is now hollow

With as much happiness as an empty attic

So Fake I have become, my shadow chooses not to follow

And me, myself, has become diluted by lies

So much so, I don't even know who I am

This is what I am

This is what I'm not

This isn't what I chose to be

Like it or not
