Lay awake
Staring into dark
Soon to slumber
To dream
Soaring higher and higher
Never coming down again
But so soon freedom
Cut short by
Blazing sun of day
Left to wait
Un-patiently for night to return
To slumber once again
And fly once more
Hoping never to awaken
So abruptly again
