When you left last time
I cared more than I should
I laid it all on the line
Knowing it wasn't good
But what did I care
You were leaving never to return
I didn't have to worry
Or let my heart yearn
You didn't want me to know
So you didn't say a word
You just left with nothing
Free as a lonely bird
But now you're returning home
Me not knowing where you stand
Hoping something will work
Just grasping for your hand.
