I'm the girl |
How it should of been
Standing there,
Taking blow after blow,
My heart felt weak,
But I would not let it show,
Word after word,
Twisted in the heart,
As a line was crossed,
With the word "slut",
Finally the tears,
Broke free,
As I said,
"I had to leave",
But this would not,
Suit you,
For you weren't done yet,
You followed me,
As I grabbed my shoes,
Yelling at me,
"I was just like Kathy",
Your ex girlfriend,
Who was obessed,
With drinking,
The drink which now,
Possessed you,
Finally I broke,
I could not take anymore,
I ran to the front door,
But you were quick,
As I closed the door shut,
Letting the cold,
Breeze brush my face,
I heard those words,
Which now,
Has haunted me,
To this day,
Since they could not be overseen,
"Never come back,
I never want to see you again,
You're alittle slut,
Just like Kathy,"
To this day,
You don't know,
What you have done,
That has caused this barrier,
The barrier that keeps,
The pain away,
For I am scared,
To let you in,
Even through,
You're better,
Since you got,
A new girlfriend,
But I still can't forget,
That painful night,
Where I walked alone,
Along the highway,
In that snow,
Waiting,
Just waiting,
For the world,
I once knew,
But I learned something,
That day,
I was no longer a child,
When I was around you,
I was ripped from the times,
We could of had,
Since the barrier keeps growing,
As father and daughter,
Seperate,
Into two complete different worlds,
Yet,
To this day,
I know,
This is not,
How it should of been,
