I sit and watch as the sun begins to rise
I look to the heavens, the beauty of the skies
Only there for a moment, yet it leaves a mark on my soul
Your life was so beautiful happy and full
To live in the view of a constant sunrise, would not end right
For then we would forget the beauty that once caught our eye
There to remind us that even when life is tough, there's always hope
The beauty in these things help me cope
A beauty taken for granted that's why it has to die
The day is always followed by a night
We would not recognize a life so grand
If it continued on it'd seen normal, it'd seem bland
The sunrise's beauty now covers the sky
But only for a moment, then we say our good-byes
Your life was a master piece painted in the sky
That's why I will forever remember you when I watch the sun rise

This is really good...a few typos and grammatical errors, but otherwise it's very nice and very powerful. I really like it. It's hard to lose a friend, especially one that's young. I lost a friend in an ATV accident a few years back..it's quite hard. But I really liked this poem and the optimism within it. Great job! |
