Tragically Beautiful
Hovering above us
The Flag granting dismay
In God we Trust
To know everything’s okay
Millions of lives taken
In the depth of tragedy
Silently Shaking
While singing “My Country tis’ of thee”
The Beginning of a battle
The towers tumble down
The depression so full
While the tears fall, silencing all sound.
The blaze showers down
Along with the planes
The absence of life all around
With the depression ringing out.
Another war reveals itself in destiny
Speaking out with its helplessness
Numerous souls are broken while tears strain to be free
As America the beautiful is drained from its happiness
Another soldier in Iraq
Fighting for our lives
A depressional attack
For sweet American’s sacrifice
War victims lay in God’s hands
Looking down at the beautiful tragedy
With appreciation
At our right to be free.
