The Kiss

The sun descending, scarlet sky

A shadow falls on you and I

Lying on my back I sigh

A wish to stay here evermore

Smiles on our faces true

Neither of us ever knew

Such a thought as “I love you”

Could bring us such astounding joy

Our eyes are pooling into one

The climax soon is sure to come

Anger in our minds now numb

Anxiety that overwhelms

Our faces meet, a tender kiss

A joyous feat of happiness

One that I will always miss

Lying here among the stars
