Burial

Views (211) Pain Created on 7-4-06 Flag

A shadow falls across her face
A camoflauge to her bruises
Beaten from the kisses she'll send
A game she always loses

Second best is what she'll be
No matter the hours practiced
A fight to win, but a knockout loss
And on her grave he dances

The epitaph, it merely says
"In Here A Girl Shall Lay"
No poetry or kind note
To commemerate her day

Of when she kissed the strangers
And hugged the crying souls
Of when she blessed the bleeding hearts
Of hate she never shows

But a slap in the face was the thank you
And every day it's what she took
And here lies a forgotten angel
Please be sure to take one last look

At someone we all took for granted
Someone we all should hope to see
A buried youth unnoticed
A little girl called me
