Our Sand Dollar |
A Shiny New Quarter (kid's poem)
Sunny day, shining bright
A lucky day to my delight
For on the street sitting oh so neat
A shiny new quarter at my feet!
What to do with my new prize?
What to do with an amount this size?
What is worth a shiny quarter?
I'll make a list (in no order)
- a magazine full of girlie talk
- a cup of lemonade on the sidewalk
- a piece of gum i can blow in a bubble
- a yo-yo to keep me out of trouble
- a pair of new laces for my shoes
- a paper full of the daily news
- perhaps a shoe shine on the corner
- in some countries, a really fine lawyer
- a polka-dot headband for my hair
- an apple, an orange, banana, and pear
- a new box for school to carry my lunch
- five candy bars for a midnight lunch
- a brand new and shiney... wait a minute!
A list for 25 cents? There'd be nothing in it!
A quarter is worth nothing more than tax
Who ever left this change, can have it back
