My Life

Plastic Figurine Faces

For my eyes see past their mask
that they wear on their plastic figurine faces.
Their eyes are full of sorrow and pain
as their face is covered in wounds that seep out
dignity, self respect, and self righteousness.
They walk amongst each other
with smiles that detect no emotion.
Darkness fills their soul as no light
can enter in.
The night sky they walk under
only reminds them
of the light they
wish would consume them.
For I see the sky
as a display of light
the stars create
hanging against the midnight air.
Each of those dazzling wonders
holding a special place in time.
My mind scavages
against the rims of my imagination
as to discover whats behind
the veil of black that covers
the holes of light.
My thoughts soar
but the figurines I see
continue to walk in unison
with fake smiles and greetings.
To place a candle under them
would only melt away their whole being.
For they don't think for themselves
they let others choose their destiny.
Yet,
no one voices any decisions.
So they continue to walk day after day
until time is to no value to them.
For their mask is so thick as to cover their scars
that they don't see the man before them.
His scars that he holds in his hands
speak louder then the ones that
ignore and neglect him.
He sends out rays of light that could pierce
through their darkened souls
if they were to just grasp and hold onto him.
I use to walk amongst these plastic people.
The same ones who wear the smiles with no meaning.
I use to walk wondering
what I would do next,
but never taking action as to what that would be.
Yet,
one day,
I noticed this man's light and I stepped out
of the chain of confomity.
The scars of his hands pressed against my own
as the walls of who I had become crumbled away.
For the wounds that once seeped
dignity, self respect, and self righteousness
healed into scars that barely went noticed.
The darkness that surrounded me
faded away as this man's light filled
every part of me.
Emotions I no longer had memory of
came and made a presence in me once again.
For this man that loved me
when I no longer loved myself
made me new.
For now my eyes see past their mask
that covers their plastic figurine faces.
For now I see what I had once been.
I stand beside this man that cries out to them
hoping that they see his marvelous light.
I no longer seep
dignity, self respect, and self righteousness
but my eyes seep out tears
that do not belong to me
but to them.
For they know not what they do.
This man can show them the way
out of their missery,
save them from their darkness,
above all....
keep them safe from themselves.
