More than likely he's cheating

Maybe he’s sleeping

Or he’s probably at work

A few hours overtime

Or what if he’s hurt?!

His cellphone is off

He’s not answering at home

Maybe he’s in the shower

Or maybe he’s not alone?

What if he’s cheating?

No, that’s not him

But what makes him different

From all the rest of them?

More than likely he’s cheating

But I don’t want to believe

That he’d purposely hurt me

And lie and deceive

Maybe these conclusions

Are terribly false

What if his excuse

Is believable after all?

What if he’s rushing

Just to make it here to me

Only an hour late

I’ll just have to wait and see

Two hours now and still no call

I’m done with him, now

I’m just done with it all
