Hidden behind every smile
are the quivering lips of shame and torture.
Hidden behind every laugh
is the pain we strive to keep inside.
Hidden behind our happiness
is a broken heart filled with sorrow
Hidden in our blood
is the secret we keep and promises left to die
Hidden in the back of our minds
is the fact that we know that it takes these things to keep us alive.
