To Someone Special.
I meet you not long ago.
But how could I knowThat we would grow
To be close. At first it seemed,
You were an old fool.
But you have deemed
Yourself, oh, so cool!
In you, I want to confide,
But, I still run and hide.
From that, that I fear
But, you say I’m dear.
I want to trust you.
Because of another,
I cannot trust you.
I hate to feel this way.
You gave me more compliments,
In two months, than I have had
In close to three years.
This is what makes me mad.
You, whom I barely know,
Can see more of me,
Than my own father
Whose house I’ve lived in
For more than 15 years.
Someday, this man I call my father,
Will walk me down the aisle
But I feel that I’ll want it to be you
Because you make me feel worth all that I am!

| I actually have a close friend who had another male figure (roll modelish and fatherlike) walk her down the isle when she got married. Her father was there, but she felt like her boss was more of a father than her own. It's a bit different, 'cause her parents were divorced and her dad lives kinda far away, but he's never called to talk or even sent her a b-day card. So I guess I don't think it's wrong, but in your situation only you know what is in your heart. |
