You are my best friend

We said until the end.

You are leaving me

For the military.

 

I should be mad.

I should be sad.

But I am happy

I am glad.

 

I am proud to know you.

Short our time was,

We should have knew.

We were, just because.

 

I am sad to see you leave

But for you to grow

you must leave to see

How much more you can know.

 

We are different. We are the same.

You are black and I am white.

Our friendship wasn't lame

This we both realize tonight.

 

As I hold back my tears,

I realize the fears

That I hold inside,

But I won't confide.

 

I want you to be strong,

I want you to belong.

Forever, you are my best friend,

I'll keep your memory until the end.

 

I will miss you forever.

Forget you, I will never.

You, I will remember.

For now, until forever.

I wrote this for my best friend cause she is enlisting in the air force and I want her to know how much I will miss her but I want to be strong for her.
