With this rose

I smelt it, breathed it in, so fresh and pure
The essence floats up so sweet and demure
As I gaze at it's beauty my heart starts to flutter
My coldness beginning to melt like butter
With this rose you send me your sweet embrace
With this rose you make my heart start to race
The elegant delight caused by flower so red
Juxtaposed with sharp thorns that cause pain instead
It sends message of love and your hearts deep call
But causes me to wonder if you betrayed me at all
With this rose you surprise me and catch me off guard
With this rose I become wary and shelter my heart
My fingers brush the petals, as soft as silk
Soft like the bed that played role in your guilt?
My mind races over and I'm pricked with a thorn
My blood crimson as the rose that started it all
With this rose my feelings turn to fear
With this rose I wish you were forever near
