Eyes burrow into my back

Even when I hide

Someone out there follows my track

No escape, no refuge

No safe house, no cave

From these watching eyes

Whispers follow hot on my tail

Even when I run

Gossip ensnares with more betrayal

From these wagging tongues

Everything I do

Judgement follows close behind

Even when I'm down

Someone's there to stick in the knife

From these traitorous 'friends'
