Live It

Get Real.

You think you know me,
But you're so wrong.
Impossibly wrong.
Unbelievably wrong.
You look and can't see past
This smile I plaster.
This smooth surface I put on.
Don't you know it's all an act?
Don't you know that everything is?
Life is too hard for it all to be so
Black and white.
Hot and cold.
Up and down.
This is right, this is wrong.
This is normal, this is not.
I'm fine, really.
What a lie.
Haven't you ever been hurt?
Haven't you ever sat alone and cried in your room,
Suffocated purely by the emptiness around you?
Sure you have.
Of course you have.
What happens after?
It doesn't all just go away.
As much as you'd like to burn the unpleasance right up,
To sigh in satisfaction as it all goes up in smoke,
You never will.
It's tar running thick in your blood.
So what is there to do?
Dye it red and move on.
I'm not saying I'm fake, and neither are you,
But if we really showed how we felt in life,
We'd be screaming the whole way through.
