Death's Sweet Sorrow

Black Tears

Black tears fill my eyes.

Never have they been as clear as the skies.

Each one so different in so many ways.

They have scarred me now for too many days.

***

Dark like the ink from a lonely pen,

Thick as the blood I see as my sin.

They fill these eyes like a huge, frightening lake.

I wish for them to stop for goodness sake!

Cascading down my face like treacherous rivers forming my fate,

Making me feel nothing but hate.

***

Black tears I wish you would go away,

I am sorry for my wrongs, if I must say.

***

Black tears,

You are my sins, emotions, hates, and my fears.

You hurt me so dearly much.

You are my depression and my suicide clutch.

***

When I look in the mirror with you streaming down,

I wipe you away, but continue to frown.

After you have vanished for the day,

A little light shines and I can see a new way.

***

Black tears you are my sins, emotions, hates, and my fears...

And one thing's for certain, you frighten your peers.
