Leaving Yourself

I left myself
in this darkened place
no where to go
just hid my face

alone is not a state
it's a place to be
day after day
burning inside me
 
 
what's left to do
in this dormant life
the world revolves
on trouble and strife
 
but the good in life can find a way out
beyond the cries and screams and shouts
live your life how you want to be
don't be just what other want to see

life's a game
but don't dare to cheat
or it will all end
in bitter, never-ending defeat
