Serenity

A sliver of air escaped my lips
A gasp once confined now danced on the wind
Visible to all and none, the ice within it
Giving it away
There she was, a tragedy
Her being once lit, now full of a blackness
That extinguished her very soul
Death. Crept forth from a world unknown
A slumber in eternal death. Cobble stone streets underneath her form
I cannot help but watch this world from afar
I weep silent fallen tears

Yet still, Over her body
Something to behold
With the darkness of death still creeping from below
A light, first a slit then a beam from above
What is this light?
What is this light that chases the darkness away?

Fingers reaching, wanting
A single hand, tender and pure
I watch as it descends like a dove falling gracefully from the light
A face, beautiful and glorious
Eyes full of benevolence, Her lips parted into a sweet smile
She touched the dead, her light causing the once dead to glow
With a light of her very own.
My tears cease their fall from grace
My eyes behold the miracle, but I stand still, disbelieving
Eyes flutter from their eternal sleep
A renewed breath flows into her very soul

What was once disbelieve turns into Joy.  She is renewed.
