We Fight For You

Walking through the burning sands under my feet;
     Wondering if we will see victory, or if we'll see defeat.
Knowing that we're risking our lives to fight for another man;
     Hoping our Admirals and Generals thoroughly researched this plan.
Never knowing if we'll make it home to see our families;
     Only knowing that we're out to kill off foreign enemies.
We've shed blood in Iraq, and we've shed blood in Kuwait;
     There is only one who will determine what is to become our fate.
Here we fight with one another. Our soldiers fighting back-to-back;
     One man carrying the Ensign, the other carrying the Jack.
Gazing up at the bright sun as it glows a bloodshot red;
     Knowing you can not go home until these terrorists are dead.
Thinking about our beloved families with tears streaming down their cheeks;
     Never knowing what you're doing up in foreign mountain peeks.
And when we finally come home, we will be heroes. We'll be great;
     Although many never returned. They were slain in either Iraq or Kuwait.

xxSnickers07xx This poem is amazing and made me think of my brother. He is back in Iraq. Third time over seas and it's scary as hell for everyone here. I can't even picture how it is for everyone over there. Although I dont know much about the stuff that is going on i know i dont support this war but i do support our troops. I give them the most respect. They deserve it.

navy707 Coming from a military girlfriend, I want to say thank you for writing that! It touched my heart and I'm praying constantly for this all to be over. Despite what some people think, you guys (and girls) that are serving our country are doing amazing things with what you've been given. This is amazing it really touches me! Beacues one of my very close cousins died in Iraq and he promised me he would return home but he didnt! I jut wisj i got to see him and tell him i love him just one more time i never dreamed that me would not make it make it back. And also it touches me because my sister is going to Iraq she is in Cail. for her tranning and I don't want her to go cuz I dont want to loose her to! I cry every night because I dont want her to go but just keep her in your prayers and thiank you so much! ur an amazing person adn god bless u
