Scapegoat

This is heard countlessly in history,

now I feel what it truly means.

To be blamed for Everything.

To be hated for no reason.

To be shunned because I am a little different,

Everything I once felt talented in, made mediocre.

Should I simply give up?

Call it quits?

Stop doing what I love?

Or is that just what they want?

I fear what will become of me if I do.

Will they never stop?

Is there perpetually something about me to target?

Do they find some sick joy in ripping my heart out?

The scapegoat mustn't feel, they say,

But I do!

The scapegoat is pushed off into the desert,

But I don't want to be alone!

The scapegoat doesn't hurt,

I hurt more then you can imagine.

My hands are chained together, I am left alone.

A living sacrifice to their pagan god.

My tears mean nothing, my anguish ignored.

No, please. Don't block out my sun!

Don't roll the stone in front of my door...

I'm not dead!

Don't sever our friendship ties...

Even if they don't mean anything anymore.

I don't want to be your scapegoat!

TwilightRose89 This is basically what my friends have been putting me through for the past month, I've finally found the words to describe it. There are hints at the historical 'scapegoath' from judaism among other hidden meanings.
