I am a teenager
I am a teenager
Many people are bothered
By our kind.
Like we’re a different species.
Don’t they realize?
They were once us.
Rebelling against power,
Thinking we’re right
And we might just be too.
We are the future
So why must they treat us like crap?
True, many of us aren’t quite in the right mind.
It’s the damn hormones, I tell ya.
It’s not all our fault.
We need guidance and nurturing
Not orders they expect us to follow as though we’re slaves.
We want independence
We want to run our lives
If we have bad childhoods,
You just know our lives are ruined forever.
Once we were
Sweet, little children adored by all.
Everything was cute.
When is the line drawn?
When everything changes?
I sigh cause
I want answers.
And questions that are important.
I am a teenager
(Oh the angst.)
