Familiar Stranger

I can't help but think I've seen her once before
Some where in my distant past
But where?
Those deep green eyes… vaguely familiar
The distinct color of her hair kissed by the rising sun
If only I knew…
Who is this familiar stranger?
She wears a look of despair upon her face
As if she carries a secret
A look of regret yet satisfaction
She reminds me of something or someone
The way she's so observant of her surroundings
A world where she didn't belong
Not speaking a single word
But saying so much with her pleading eyes
She seemed to be waiting patiently…
Waiting for this world to open it's eyes and acknowledge her being
And that's when I realized what made this stranger seem so familiar
This stranger was me…
