I’M NOT WORTH IT… I PROMISE

Don’t bother to care
It’s just a waste of time
Telling me you love me
Such a foolish crime

I do not deserve the praise
You give with every breath
For in the end I’m nothing
All I am worthy of is death

You try to convince me I’m wrong
As you fight the urge to cry
Don’t you see I’m insignificant
Your plea, my lullaby

I promise you will thank me
This is for the best
Go on and live your life
Give your heart a rest

Can’t you see the truth
Behind the ridiculous lie
Just turn your back and walk away
All you have to do is try

Forget all about me
Do not care anymore
I know you can do it
I’ve done it once before

I am incapable of love
And the emotions it may bare
No one person has proven
That they really do care

They all leave me stranded
Isolated and broken
But here you are before me
With your arms wide open

A conflict builds within me
And it tears me apart
Should I listen to my conscious
Or follow my heart

But in the end it could be different
Maybe I’ll wait around to see
Will it be a tragic end
Or my fairytale fantasy?
