silence

peace

eyes slowly give up the fight as i drift into a deep slumber

surrounded by darkness

holding on to the last of reality

falling into this dark void called life

grasping for the last of my sanity

fighting the urge to cry

wondering what i did wrong

and how i could make things right again

losing confidence in myself

discovering my deepest fears

suffocating

wishing for one more chance

looking for a way out

realizing that the only person who really cares is the reflection in the mirror

and accepting it all...

seekerovtruth Sometimes I'm torn on whether I should just leave comment on the writing of a poem or address the content whithin and this time I'm opting to do both. I love the poem. I think it reveals a lot of emotions that many of us have felt at one time or another with form, grace and style. I can't help myself but to also make comment on the last line of "and accepting it all" with a tad bit of wise old owl unsolicited helpfulness. Acceptance, is so necessary in this life (of the things we can't change) but lest not we forget to tap in to the courage we all have, to change the things we can. Perhaps by revealing this nakedness of emotion for the world to see, may also reveal to you that your reflection is not the only one who cares and that there are people in this world who can inspire you to take on those things you CAN change, and accepting that you CAN face your fears, and that you CAN stand with confidence, might be some additional items to add to your list. :)
