Astronomical Aspirations

On my rooftop slope I lie,
outside my bedroom window
I see the midnight stars above,
as I feel the brisk wind blow.
The blackened empty sky is clear:
it’s filled with many intangible stars.
Things I look for every night,
but will never reach afar.
My aspirations fill the sky
and selections are abundant,
The constellations are only things,
mere dreams of what I want.

On my rooftop slope I lie,
outside my bedroom window
I see the midnight in your eyes,
and I search for a lightened glow.
Your pupils large so I can see,
the fate of you; the fate of me.
I pray for us both day and night,
but we’ll never live to be.
My aspirations fill your eyes
and selections are abundant,
The dreams I had are only things,
mere hopes of what I can’t.
