Them and Us

Her eyes gazed into his;
His eyes gazed in hers.
The only problem is that,
they were not the eyes of her.

Somewhere he loves her,
But never here.
He waits for her to come to him,
But she never settles.

Her heart aches,
He believes in her but he will never give up.

Shine on what hasn’t gone to hell,
So that it may whisk away with that is good.

Tell me what we haven’t achieved,
While we were standing here.
Grey grass and black flowers,
White darkness is its only void;
Reversed and revised while still redundant.
Holding on to what might last,
Letting go of what might be.
Hate the window of opportunity,
Hate the window of your life,
Hate That I can see everything in it;
All the truths and lies;
All the secrets and anthems.
