Taking the Risk

I want to let go

I need to let go

But I can't let go

Let go of all I've done.

Let go and stop trying to please everyone.

Let go and just be who I am

instead of closing like a clam.

I want to let go and be free

but sadly this just isn't me.

I want to do this

I need to do this

But I can't do this

It all goes against all I know

to follow through and go with the flow.

I seriously don't know how to act

without any kind of fact.

More and more I'm getting scared

as I'm feeling unprepared.

I want to be there

I need to be there

And even if I can't be there…I have to

because this is something that I must go through.

A chance to be somebody true.

The more and more I think at all

the easier the desire to fall.

This is a chance to be who I am

instead of being this shy quiet lamb.

I guess I'm going to have to look in the mirror.

And face the very person and thought I fear

if I desire not to stay here.

I must take the risk so dear.
