In the darkness I wait. I hear all the fighting, all the hate, all the pain, and all the lies. Yet you think I'm asleep. My face is hidden under the covers and my back is turned. I hear the screaming, crying and yelling. Yet I'm asleep. Here's what I'm doing. I'm staying still, waiting for everything to stop. Then when all has stopped I still hide and begin to cry. You find me in the morning the same way. Just know I cried myself to sleep again, but no, you just think I've been asleep. |
