(note) freestyle poem, not much focus on structure. Just spoke from my mind. In a response in sorts by something I read from user asiansin in one of her posts in her thread. Ignighted my brain to reply in kind. read objectively. No offense to anyone.
The general belief is men think with their dong
That we talk a smooth game to just to beat on a snatch
Generalized statements are inherently wrong
Take a deeper look and open the mental hatch
Real men stand up and treat women like queens
Does not coerce sex for her presence fulfills his dreams
If they lie together in the morning she’s french toasted
And if her best friends it'll be clear that she has boasted
Should a man hit you once well then shame on him
For he has hence forth lost his man rights
Should a man hit you twice well then shame on you
He doesn’t love you so spread your wings, take flight
This can be arduous for some since the good times were just that
To those dogs you’re a chew toy, real men won't have any of that
So please women adjust your parameters
Go on; change your field of view
If you do you'll find the one
Who’s the amalgamation of the two
A just and kindhearted son
Who’s peppered with some naughtiness too
So be patient my ladies
In time you will see
Hordes of real men are breaded
They will be just what you needed

i like Your new poem a lot. And i'm a sucker for subtlety. Especially the subtlety of the title. Nice touch. It speaks to me of the stereotyping, or categorizing, that the poem warns against. That pulls it all together. Even in Your opening statement: "Ignited my brain to reply in kind." Sentences like that are what poetry is made of; or should be. |

So I love this...Some years ago I would have thought it to be just a really long line, but now I know how much truth there is to your words!! I like the rhymes you choose throughout the whole thing. Given the first two lines, I didn't expect the rest of the poem to take on the serious feel that it did. Maybe it was just me :) But really, I think you did a wonderful job writing this one! |

well, Doug I have to agree with this poem, the only thing is I believe that what you speak of comes from maturity, cause when I was back in high school and in my early 20's, the opposite sex just wanted their fix to tap that as they say * haha *, as I got older I realized that not all men are dogs after all!! *most men generaly want what we want *Passion, love, respect & trust* very nicely written! |
