Gone but not forgotten

Mr. Wright, was an older guy but very wise
He looked like just a normal guy.
A very respectable man with a plan in life.
His thoughts were bearing,
He was a generous man and also caring.
.
He loved his wife dearly,
From all I can remember they were together
Nearly their whole lives.
Till one day God took her from him,
But he still feels her presence within his heart.
.
He was a talented man with his hands,
Give him some wood and he would make anything
From windmills to wooden ashtrays that he'd just
Give away after he spent days and days
Sanding and painting, it was of interest to me
To see all the people waiting to see what he could do
And how it was once just a piece of wood put to good use.
.
He was a friend indeed
I loved to see him at least once a day
But I was to young to want to learn
I was just happy that I earned his respect
Even though he's not around I learned more from him
Than he would've ever expected
I wrote this poem about a man that's still well respected
To put my last respects in words to last forever as his memories will.
