Behind that suburban door

Many crimes are committed.

Cruelty and pain

A world they hide well.

Eyes that cried and you saw

you walked away

Not my problem, not today!

She saw you and wanted to die.

For fear and shame of all her pain

locked behind that door.

Work she may not

Talk NEVER!!

Who would listen or believe ?

This goes on year upon year

You shrug and say she should leave.

By now she has kids.

More complexeties you do not see.

She cries everyday for help

and you hear her not

either through want or ignorance

I know not what.

You call your self caring?

Of what?

Then the day comes,

The day we all knew would.

She is gone and so are the little ones.

Where did they go?

For your soul's sake I hope they left!

Because the other idea is gruesome.

And you walked away.

Not me, not today.

He need never lifts his hands to be so cruel,

You can be sure of that.

One day you will answer.

Both perpatrator, victim and witness.

So who are you and how do you feel?

that hides behind a door and darkness?
