Some people look at you and only see what you cannot do
I look at you and see what you have done
Some people pity you
At times I envy you
Your Spirit outshines the sun
You have never spoken
Never complained
You cannot form the words to express your pain
Yet one smile from you kept our family together
One laugh from you makes my worries all seem of no measure
I look at you and I am sure
That angels do live amoung us
I see how blessed I am to have you in my home
To care for you is an honor
And then you give me something more
A bond of which I am sure
Can cross oceans and seas
Because the thought of you brings me to my knees
praying "God help me be humble like my sister"
"God help me know what is it means to depend on you"
Then your smiling face
Takes the place of any worry or person who has been on my case
"Thank You Lord"
For the angel you have given me
A gaurdian I have spent my whole life long with
She was there with me during birth itself
She just came three minutes earlier to make sure things were okay for me
She took on the handicape that should have been mine
We switched places just before we took our first breath
She took my place let let me run this race well
Help me to live life for
Us Both
In a way she would not be ashamed of
Because
She Is Me

This is an amazing poem, I miss my sister and even though we weren't twins, I feel as if we had the same bond that you and your sister have. I however do have 18 month old twins, a boy and a girl, and they have a close bond. Your sis is lucky to have a sister like you. |
