I learned my lesson now.
After a year.
Not to fall so fast.
Not trust so easily.
That love is nothing to fear.
My heart took over my mind.
I could not think.
My emotions were in a bind.
You made me feel good.
Then you took it away.
My heart wanted to scream.
Why didn't you stay?
We talk here and there.
You still make me smile.
I think you still care.
We may just always be friends.
We might be nothing more.
But that's ok.
That's what I've been fighting for.
I learned that we can be friends again.
But I still have more to learn
