Pit Of Gold

Pit Of Gold

When you hear the wind call your name

across the ever enchanting plains,

Only spirits seem equal to your power.

When life as a whole leans to the side,

letting soul slip through fingers of wealth,

Only second chances may make you quiver,

under the control of lost enemies.

And as the river folds between mother earth’s mind

Love is only a whisper, that somehow passes by.

Ponder the world around, in your pit of gold

And count the times the clock hits empty.

Not even the wind will satisfy lost moments.

So for the sake of hungry children at your feet,

Crying as though bitterness met their fate.

You must sing out for love.
