One body

one life

one mind

we never though it would end

we twined our hands together and sang silly songs

ate food without feeling guilty afterward

never thought about the bad

dancing without music and laughing on the floor

crystal hearts of roses that break so easily

we just smile and pick the pieces from the floor

no boys to seperate us

to tell candy covered lies

that taste so sweet and sparkle in the light

we grew glittering faerie wings

and taught our imaginary friends to fly

then came the blood and we thought we would die

it flowed downour legs in unrelenting waves

boys looked at us in a new way

and stared down our shirts

we lost our wings and forgot how to fly

we didn't dance like wood faeries anymore

we didn't hold hands

even when I was scared

we must have been so smart

to seeminly grow up when we were only shrinking

where did our gossamer wings fly away to

when did we stop eating food

when did we start taking the pill

why do we try to grow when we are withering

our eyes shut and do not open

we seperate and go different ways

different dreams we try to catch with invisible nets

all we ever wanted was to grow our wings back
