Desolate

My world is shattered before my feet.

The world keeps turning and everything seems obsolete.

I look towards the sky with lost faith

as everything turns black and fades away.

We travel our different roads of life

thinking nothing can go wrong.

but when the ones we love are gone

All hope is gone.

How can we all go on living?

How do we all keep pretending?

That it will be well again in the end

even though we will never see them again.

How do you fight away the pain inside

and the tears that begin to fall?

Is this what they call heartbroken,

Or was there ever love at all?
