Good Ol' Days

Sun comes up, Light fills the landscape,

Moms cooking breakfast, eggs and pancakes,

Smiling for no particular reason,  anticipating what will end up as memories of a better time,

pictures for every season, daydreaming, fantasizing, will it all come true? 

Where did that time go? What makes these moments hold such a dear place in my heart,

They have become paintings that hang on the walls of my mind like art, 

I put on my shoes and leave to explore a world i know nothing about,

Not afraid to shout, i cover much ground with confidence, no reason to pout, 

Un aware of how much of these moments i will use, 

Little do i know that the things i do now will be the things i try to relive later to keep from the pain of losing my youth,

So young free and careless, having the time of my life, living the memories,

Lost loves, forgotten friends, simple acquaintances, faces stuck in my head  

Places that invoke thoughts that i cherish, songs that remind me of people and times,

Lets not forget the things that make us smile, cuz thoughts are one thing you can keep forever,

Live like you want to remember it cuz that is all you have, 

If only we could go back, to those happy times,

Those good ol' days
