Frowning Clown

Fuck this smile that I wear,

With apparently no care,

On the face of a clown,

That just hides his frown.

Fed up of wearing this costume,

Just to make you all assume,

That you actually know me,

Cause that's what you want to see.

All these masks, flares and flashes,

Eventually just falls and crashes,

When I forget who I am,

Hidden inside a character cram.

Faults hidden beneath a mess,

Whilst there creating stress,

Just mold my character just to hide them,

From which more just seem to stem.

Now I'm going to find each one,

Sort them out and make them run,

Turn myself into that better man,

Just like you say I can.

No more excuses, no more lies,

Have to do it before chance flies,

Before I lose all the laughter,

Before I lose what I'm truly after.

From tomorrow out I'll go,

And only one me you will know,

Maybe you'll still see that silly clown,

But at least you'll see his frown.
