A Great Emptyness

Deep in my chest,
A sense of unrest,
A vast hollowness,
A great emptyness.
The centre of my soul,
Where it should be most whole,
Where one usually finds meaning,
Where I find most depleting.
Most fill it with belief,
Others with whom they hold dear,
I want to believe but it is unclear,
No matter how I try, all it gives is grief.
In a world filled with greatness,
Stands a boy alone,
Like the ever observing stone,
But with a great emptyness.
