Goodbye
I wish things didn’t have to change
I was happy the way we were
But then it got a little complicated
And I offended her
It’s one of those situations
Where nothing can make it right
But it’s playing on my mind a lot
It’s keeping me up at night
But I have to finally accept
That there’s nothing I can do
Except wait, hope and pray
That our friendship will come through
It was hard to say goodbye to her
The two occasions before
But I never realised the third time
Would hurt so much more
I don’t think I ever told her
In any conversation
She wasn’t just a friend to me
… She was my inspiration

Goodbyes always hurt. My favorite thing about this poem, though, isn't even that you captured the emotions of being hurt. It's that you also captured the emotion of hope. Hope that even though you're saying goodbye with the title, it doesn't have to be that way. This is my favorite of your poems! |

I would advise you not to let it affect you sleeping at night, that will only cause you problems in other aspects of your life! I'm sure she still cares about you, just needs a little time and already knows that she wasn't just a friend as im sure you werent just a friend to her! |
