Out of Ideas

I’ve given up on writing

The words just don’t want to flow

This writer’s block has beaten me

I’ve hit a creative plateau

I’ve wasted too much of my time

Staring at a blank screen

I don’t even know how to finish this verse

So I’ll just use the word trampoline

You see what I mean?  The words aren’t there

I’m having to think about every line

Normally I write on pure emotion

But I think it’s time to resign

And admit I’m all out of ideas

I don’t know what to write about

I guess you could say I’m all dried up

I’m in an artistic drought

So this is the best I can offer you

Let’s hope there’s better tomorrow

In the meantime I ask a favour of you
