I try to be a happy person
Despite being so misunderstood
I try to be the nice guy
Always trying to do what's good
I try to help anyone
Who happens to cross my path
Living life with a smile and a joke
Hiding behind a false laugh
I tried to re-invent myself
With a more positive outlook
Without realising how hard it would be
Without considering the effort it took
All it took was a friends sweet poem
To make me feel this way
It wasn't about or for me
But it still took the happiness away
It made me realise I'll never have
A love so honest, so true
